EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS UNIT

Representation

We provide representation at Employment Tribunals, County Courts, High Courts and all stages of any appeal process.  When you instruct barristers from Foundry Chambers you will be pleased to know that you are not instructing generalists but barristers who specialise in employment law and who:

·   Care about the outcome of the case;

·   Care about the client’s background and the circumstances of the particular issues;

·   Work quickly, tirelessly and efficiently to find the most effective resolution to any dispute;

·   Consider the effect of the case on the client’s  reputation and future reputation and how to limit any damage;

·   Keep an open line of communication and continuously advice through every stage of the proceedings;

·   Fearlessly represent the client’s interest.

In-House Training

 We provide all year round tailor-made in-house training to organizations and their managers, directors and trustees.  We believe that very little is gained by sending the odd manager or 2 on training which is usually too general and does not address the particular needs of any organization.  In- house training offers a cost effective means of training all relevant staff, ensuring compliance and reducing risk.

Examples of training programmes offered are as follows:

·   ‘The Reasonable Employer’ – Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures Training for Managers

·   Introduction to Employment Law

·   Age, Work and Equality – Age Regulations 2006

·   Diversity, Dignity and Equality in the workplace – Training for Managers

·   Diversity, Dignity and Equality in the workplace – Training for Employees

Advice and Support

In employment relations, a stitch in time does save nine.  Defending a tribunal claim costs an employer £7,000 on average on legal fees (even where it settles).  Timely advice may forestall very costly mistakes.  We provide advice and/or representation in the following areas:

·   Internal disciplinary and grievance hearings

·   Termination and compromise agreements

·   Redundancies and business reorganizations

·   Mergers and transfer of undertakings

·   Contracts and service agreements

·   Policies and procedures
